Here’s how Eve Smallgoods is shaking up the sausage game (and keeping things clean).
Clean Eating You Can Trust
Our products are designed to be inclusive - for families with dietary needs, for those watching their health, and for anyone who just wants to eat better.
Unless it’s one of our cheese sausages (yum!), all our products are:

🚫 Only Aussie Meats
What to watch for: Labels that say “product of X” (where X is definitely not Australia).
The sin: Uncertain animal welfare, hidden transport emissions, and mystery feed.
Our way: 100% Australian, hormone-free meats from reputable local producers. We care about how animals are raised and we back our farmers every step of the way.
🎨 Artificial Colours & Flavours
What to watch for: That neon red hue? That oddly “meaty” taste? Fake.
The sin: Using lab-made flavourings and colours to trick your senses.
Our way: Superior real herbs, real spices, and zero fakery. Nature’s pantry has all we need.
🧫 Fillers
What to watch for: Sausages where meat isn’t even half the story because Australian regulations require at least half of all sausage content to include meat.
The sin: Breadcrumbs, soy, wheat or rice flour – sometimes more filler than meat!
Our way: Zero fillers. Zero sulphites. Zero gluten. Just quality meat and superior ingredients.
🧪 Nitrates & Nitrites
What to watch for: Sausages that look suspiciously pink forever.
The sin: Overuse of preservatives for a longer shelf life (and unnatural colour).
Our way: We test all our smoked products at accredited labs. Our ham nitrate and nitrite levels are just 12mg/kg - that’s less than 10% of maximum allowed levels. Traditional methods, modern science, no shortcuts.
🦴 Mechanically Deboned Meat (MDM)
What to watch for: Gritty texture. Little bone bits. General "what IS that?" vibes.
The sin: Using machine-scraped, low-grade cheap meat trimmings.
Our way: All meat is hand-cut from the bone. It’s slower, but there is no compromise when striving for perfection!
💨 Liquid Smoke & Fake Flavour
What to watch for: "Smoky" sausages that have never met a woodchip.
The sin: Liquid smoke made from, well… don’t ask.
Our way: We use real Beech and Apple wood (sometimes Juniper!) in a traditional smokehouse. It’s the aroma of honesty.
🌭 Artificial Casings
What to watch for: Weirdly straight sausages that snap weird.
The sin: Casings made from collagen, cellulose or plastic. Sometimes dyed.
Our way: Natural, premium casings made from cleaned, sterile sheep or pigs intestines – just as it’s been done for centuries. That's why our sausages are bent if they are long and why they make that satisfying 'crack'. Bent is beautiful.
Did you know?: Organic food regulations in Europe and the USA require only natural casings to be used?
